Michelle Banik is the Chief People Officer at OMERS. As the Global Head of Human Resources for the OMERS enterprise, Michelle leads the team of professionals who deliver on the OMERS People Strategy. She joined OMERS in 2010.
With more than 20 years of business experience gained across startups, publicly traded companies, and one of Canada’s largest pension plans, Michelle brings a career focus on people and organizational topics that drive strategy and performance. Prior to joining OMERS, she was Global Head of Talent Management at TMX Group, with leadership accountability for all Talent Management programs, HR Business Partner teams, and HR due diligence in mergers and acquisitions.
Michelle is a graduate of Western University, a Certified Human Resources Executive (CHRE) and is certified by the Directors College as a Chartered Director (C.Dir). Michelle is also a member of the Advisory Council for the School for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Humanities (Western University), is on the Board of Directors for Toronto Finance International, and is on the National Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada. Across the four seasons in Ontario, she can be found running, biking and snowboarding.
