Meet Our Members
Isabelle Gulli is a pensions expert. She has worked with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board for over 30 years – the last two decades as a pension administrator, teaching members about their OMERS Plan and how to make it work for them. And she’s passionate about her work./sites/omers-newsletter/static/images/sites/omers-newsletter/static/images/sites/omers-newsletter/static/images/sites/omers-newsletter/static/images/sites/omers-newsletter/static/images
“I love pensions because you’re helping people into the next phase of their life and it’s a happy phase."
Isabelle admits that the OMERS Plan is complex, but she’s happy to help make sense of it to members. “I find it rewarding when I’ve helped someone understand the Plan,” she said.
She also loves working with OMERS staff: “I look at OMERS as my family. We’ve worked together for so many years.”
When Isabelle retires, she would like to travel and visit Italy, where she was born. A big supporter of Habitat for Humanity, Isabelle plans to volunteer for the non-profit organization to help them build homes, and that way she will get to travel too. She also expects to continue volunteering for local music festivals as she has done for the past 20 years. Overall, she’s looking forward to the freedom that retirement brings, especially with an OMERS pension.
Isabelle says her OMERS pension gives her a sense of security knowing she’ll receive additional income on top of government funds and other investments when she retires. “With the OMERS pension, it’s for life. So the longer you live, the more you benefit from it,” she said.

Call for member photoshoot volunteers
We love sharing member stories and, as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words! We’re looking for members who would like to be featured in our Member Spotlight in this Member Monthly newsletter and have their photos taken by a professional photographer for OMERS communication materials.
We want to capture the many career paths that OMERS members represent, including non-teaching staff in schools, parks and recreation workers, public transit staff, police specialty units and more! To participate, send us an email at memberspotlight@omers.com. More information will be sent to volunteers in March and April 2022.
