No changes to Employment Standards Act leave reporting with Bill 47

Effective January 1, 2019, the Making Ontario Open for Business Act, 2018 (Bill 47) replaced personal emergency leave with three new unpaid leaves: sick, family responsibility and bereavement. Although these changes affect statutory leaves that are available to your employees, they do not affect the process of reporting statutory leaves to OMERS. Continue to report leaves as outlined in the Employment Standards Act (ESA) leave reporting e-alert. If you have questions about reservist leaves, or for more information, contact Employer Services.
