Ontario Bill 236 - An Act to amend the Pension Benefits Act

The Ontario government has begun its next phase of pension reform with the introduction of Bill 236, which received Royal Assent on May 18, 2010. The government has indicated that Bill 236 is the first of a multi-stage process to reform and modernize Ontario's employment pension system. Many provisions of Bill 236 will not be operative until regulations are in effect.
