Summer is in full swing, and I hope you're enjoying every moment of it with your friends and family! The July issue of Employer Monthly has lots of timely information to support your administration of the Plan, including the latest update on the new e-access system, an announcement about the second annual Employer Education Week and a reminder about the Employer Stewardship Report. We also share dates for upcoming webinars and, as always, an invitation to provide feedback to OMERS through the Employer Satisfaction Survey.

New e-access features

The new e-access system is almost complete, and we will be decommissioning the legacy system in October. If you haven’t already, use the available training resources to learn the new system and become familiar with the forms and features.

Beginning Friday, July 30, the Contribution remittance summary (e-Form 105) will be available in the new e-access system. We’re continuing to build out the functionality of the Request for an OMERS Plan benefit (e-Form 143), and pre-retirement death and disability reporting will be available in the new e-access system in late August.

Employer Education Week is back

OMERS is excited to announce that our second annual Employer Education Week will be back this fall! This weeklong virtual conference will kick off October 25 and will offer a wide range of topics and activities to choose from, giving you the flexibility to register for sessions that cater to your interests and schedule.

Sessions will include key administration topics, employers sharing insights during our panel discussion, guest speakers from OMERS leadership team and more! Employer Education Week will also provide you with the opportunity to network with fellow OMERS employer representatives from across the province and share best practices.

Coming soon: Employer Stewardship Report

Last year, OMERS provided you with a personalized Employer Stewardship Report to share insights, improve administration and find new ways to engage with you.

This year, you will receive another Employer Stewardship Report highlighting 2020’s key member insights, metrics and benchmarks related to administering the OMERS Pension Plan. Your Employer Stewardship Report will be customized to your group and provide you with valuable information about your membership demographics, identify what’s working well and suggest opportunities for improvement. The administration metrics shared in the report will also include comparisons to the average of all OMERS employers.

The Employer Stewardship Report helps us identify where OMERS can better support you with enhanced resources, like employer training, tools and materials. These reports are a useful tool that allow you to compare year-over-year performance. If you need to request a copy of last year’s report, please contact Employer Services.
