Tim D’Souza
Tim D’Souza was appointed by the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies (OACAS) to the OMERS Sponsors Corporation (SC) Board effective January 1, 2025. He serves on the Audit & Human Resources Committee and Plan Design Committee.
Mr. D’Souza has 30 years of finance, consulting and leadership experience, helping a wide range of organizations improve what they do. He started his career assisting non-governmental organizations develop and execute strategy and operational improvements, following which, spent approximately 20 years performing similar roles in the private sector, principally with large companies like IBM and Sun Life. In 2018, he returned to the non-profit world and served as the Chief Operating Officer at the Christian Children’s Fund of Canada. In 2021, Mr. D’Souza joined Diabetes Canada, to help the organization navigate through the challenges posed by COVID-19 and currently serves as a Senior VP overseeing Finance, Procurement, Risk, Information Technology and Human Resources.
In addition to his work on the OMERS SC Board, Mr. D’Souza serves on other boards. In March 2022, the Minister of Immigration appointed Tim to the board of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants of Canada, the regulatory body that oversees Immigration Consultants; and, in December 2023, the Governor General appointed Tim to the board of the Canada Revenue Agency, the federal body that collects taxes and administers a range of benefits programs. Prior to this, following an appointment from the Lieutenant Governor General of Ontario, Mr. D’Souza was appointed to the Ontario Internal Audit Committee, and advisory body to the Ontario Cabinet, and he served on other non-profit, public service boards.
Mr. D’Souza holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto, an M.A. from the University of Guelph and an M.B.A from Yale University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. Mr. D’Souza also designs and delivers courses at several post-secondary institutions, including Nipissing University, McMaster University, the Insurance Institute of Canada and Algonquin College.
